EuroMatch NPFL Matchday 8: Rangers Face Barau Test As Nine Time Champion Enyimba Travel to Katsina

The EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League enters Matchday 8 this weekend, with 10 fixtures scheduled across Friday, Saturday and Sunday as clubs continue their battle for points at both ends of the table.

Sports247 reports that action begins on Friday, October 9, 2026, when Katsina United welcome nine-time champions Enyimba International.

The encounter will be broadcast live on NPFL and MBI, with the hosts facing an in-form Enyimba side looking to continue their positive run.

Two fixtures will follow on Saturday, October 10, beginning with Ikorodu City hosting Kwara United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Ikorodu City will be looking to respond after suffering a 2–0 defeat to Rivers United, while Kwara United will be aiming to build momentum away from home.

Newly promoted Ranchers Bees will also be at home, welcoming Niger Tornadoes in another intriguing encounter. Both Saturday fixtures will also be broadcast live on NPFL and MBI.

Six matches are scheduled for Sunday, October 11, with league leaders Rangers International facing a difficult away assignment against Barau FC.

Barau FC suffered their first heavy defeat of the season against Bendel Insurance in Benin, and the Kano-based side now face another major challenge against the table-toppers. Rangers, meanwhile, will be keen to maintain their position at the summit.

Second-placed Rivers United will travel to Abia to face Abia Warriors, managed by former Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo.

The Port Harcourt club will enter the fixture looking to maintain their impressive campaign, while Abia Warriors will be determined to make home advantage count.

Shooting Stars head coach Salisu Yusuf faces another demanding assignment after consecutive barren home draws.

The Oluyole Warriors were held 0–0 by Nasarawa United before playing another goalless draw against Kano Pillars in their rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Shooting Stars will now travel to face Kun Khalifat, with Yusuf hoping his side can rediscover their attacking spark away from home.

Elsewhere, Nasarawa United will welcome Doma United to Lafia. The Solid Miners secured a point in Ibadan against Shooting Stars on Matchday 7, a result that could provide confidence ahead of their home encounter.

Inter Lagos will be away to Warri Wolves, with both sides looking to improve their respective positions.

In Jos, Plateau United will host Kano Pillars, with the Mai Su Gida side led by Sporting Lagos coach Daniel Ogunmodede looking to secure an important result on the road.

The weekend’s final fixture will see Sporting Lagos return home to face Bendel Insurance. Sporting Lagos secured a point away to Kano Pillars last weekend and will now hope to turn that result into maximum points against a Bendel Insurance side that recorded a convincing victory over Barau FC.

With the league table beginning to take shape, Matchday 8 promises another weekend of significant battles, with points at stake at both the top and bottom ends of the EuroMatch NPFL standings.
