Oghenekaro Etebo who was transferred from championship side, stoke to the high flying Spanish outfit will be disappointed after his club failed to book a European ticket on the final game day of the 2019/ 2020 following a shock 0-1 defeat in the hands of Levante to salvage them a LaLiga participation ticket next season.

The Nigerian wasn’t available for selection having featured last for 22 mins before his injury in a 2-1 home victory against Real Sociedad and has been out for six consecutive games.

VAR ruled in favour of the linesman’s decision and disallowed what Getafe thought was their opening goal followed by the second check denied Getafe of another goal after Angel Rodriguez scored just before the half-hour mark.

VAR disallowed the goal for an offside violation prior to Rodriguez’s quality finish.

The third and final check took place just before half-time, but this time VAR ruled against Levante.

Roger Marti thought he had put his team ahead going into the break but VAR deemed him offside from Sergio Leon’s pass.

However, Levante were able to find the net after a penalty was awarded for Coke, who scored in the Tenth minute of second-half injury time as the result saw Getafe miss out on the chance of Europa League qualification next season.
