Enymba FC continued their rebuilding process with a 5-2 victory against NLO side, Inter Aba FC in one of the match day one encounters of the 7th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select preseason tournament.
The new look Peoples Elephants raced into the lead as early as the first minute of the encounter when new kid in the block, Abraham Michael benefited from a high press to slot home his first for the Aba giants.

Former Edel FC winger, Nwaorisa Onyebuchi pounced on a telegraphic cut back from overlaping full back, Joel Ezra, to increase the lead as early as the 4th minute.
A rare lack luster defending however gifted Inter Aba a penalty at the 29th minute which was converted by Odinaka Ogbogbe to halve the deficiet, before attack monster, Abraham doubled his tally at the 33rd minute restoring Enyimba’s two goal lead.
The second stanza saw a triple half time substitution for the double CAF Champions league winners as Aniebet Sunday, Bassey John and Williams Wonnah replaced Quadri Olusunkanmi, Abraham and Eze Chibuzo which yield immediate impact as Bassey got on the score sheet with his trade mark nodding off Joel’s pin point cross at the 61st minute while slicky Aniebet completed the five goal triill converting Basey’s cut back header in the 79th minute.
The NLO side were once again presented another chance to test Ogunka Kelvin in goal for Enyimba from 12 yards after a rash tackel inside the box as Chinwekele Dick made it a respectable scoreline 5-2 in favour of The People’s Elephant.
In their post-match comments, Coach Deco of Inter Aba and Coach Ndubuisi Nduka, who stood in for Coach Stanley Eguma, said they were delighted with their team’s performances.
Coach Deco praised his boys for their resilience to not concede more than 5 goals and for troubling experienced Enyimba to score twice.
Coach Nduka, while extoling the preseason, said they have seen the strong points of their boys as well as the grey areas as they will, in turn, continue to work on improving the side.
Enyimba will on Sunday take on Oriental rivals, Heartland FC in one of the match day two encounters by 4pm while new commers, KMK FA of Uyo will take on Inter Aba by 10am just as new NPFL side, Kun Kahlifat will square up againat Excellence FA by 2pm all at the Enyimba Stadium.
