Enyimba back to Nigeria after CAF Confederation Cup ouster

Following their 2-1 second leg loss to Raja Casablanca in the semifinal of the CAF Confederation Cup, players and officials of Enyimba returned to the country this morning, reports Footballlive.ng.

 

Enyimba lost 3-1 on aggregate to the Botola Pro 1 giants and kissed goodbye to the second tier club club competition in Africa.

The team which left Casablanca, Morocco at about 10:50pm last night, touched down at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos at 2:50 am.

Addressing the players, the Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu thanked the them for their commitment towards the just concluded season.

He urged them to keep their heads held up high as they had fought gallantly to get to this stage of the competition.

Anyansi went on to declare a two-week break for the team, while also advising them to be good ambassadors of the club.

The team has since disembarked with some players leaving for their destinations while the bulk of the squad is on its way to Aba.
