Enugu State Kick Boxing Coach Calls on State, Local Government Investment In Modern Facilities To Boost Sports Development

Dr. Vitus Oti, Coach of Enugu State Kick Boxing Association has called on the state and local governments to invest in modern facilities to accelerate sports development in the state as the absence of modern facilities and local competitions in the state is immensely affecting the performance of athletes in national competitions.

Oti posited that the state will only do well when the necessary sports facilities are put in place for athletes to train with while also calling for greater collaboration between the state government and sports administrators to fashion out the best way to develop sports in the state.

He said that the Presidential Task Force on the nation’s Sports Festival was working with the relevant health authorities and committees on the best way forward and that the COVID-19 pandemic halted sporting activities globally with the resultant postponement of major competitions.

Oti further appealed to the state government to organise refresher courses, workshops, and training for coaches and sports associations to equip them with modern ideas in sports.
