Eniola Bolaji Clinches Para-Badminton Gold For Kwara State

Sports247 reports that Bolaji, who is ranked global number one in the SL3 cadre by Para Badminton World Federation, defeated her opponent from Abia State to pick gold in her category and add to Kwara State’s medals haul at the 2026 Para-Games.

It was another feather added to the growing cap of laurels for Bolaji, who made history when she competed at the 2024 Paralympics, where she finished third and returned home with a bronze medal from the women’s singles SL3 event.

Her feat became Nigeria’s first medal at the Paris Paralympics as well as the first African to medal in para-badminton at either Olympics or Paralympics, such that having her participate at Abuja 2026 was a major boost for Kwara State.

Bolaji’s performance in Abuja also motivated Kwara’s Ayuba Yahaya to clinch bronze in the men’s SL4 singles event, though he lost his second and third matches to opponents from Abia and Enugu States, but Olanrewaju Precious lost her second game of the competition.
