Emmanuel Emegha Scores Twice For Strasbourg Against Lille In French Ligue 1

Strasbourg of France had their Nigerian-born attacker, Emmanuel Emegha to thank for a wonderful evening in the French Ligue 1, as the Dutch international gave them victory with two well taken goals.

Sports247 reports that the Strasbourg captain, who has a Nigerian mother and Togolese father, struck both goals to help his side get their first Ligue 1 victory over any of the top-7 teams so far in the ongoing season.

Emegha’s goals brought about a 2-0 success over Lille Metropole and condemned the visitors to their eighth away defeat of the year.

The win at Stade de la Meinau did not come easy, as Aissa Mandi initially held back Emegha, and Mike Penders’ save from Nathan Ngoy’s header kept the scores level.

Later on, Diego Moreira’s cross and a mix up between Ngoy and Lille keeper Berke Ozer helped man-of-the-match Emegha knock the ball home after it ricocheted off his thigh.

Emegha then benefitted from former Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud, whose faulty back pass was pounced on by the Nigerian-born ace and he calmly slid the ball past the keeper for his second goal of the game.
