Abia Warriors striker Ijoma Antonie Desouza has reportedly sealed a move to FK Radnik Bijeljina in Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking what could be a pivotal juncture in his blossoming footballing career.
In conversation just after penning what may be his first European contract, the 20-year-old forward spoke with gratitude and ambition.

“Playing in Europe has always been the dream,” Desouza said. “I’m thankful to Abia Warriors for all they’ve done and to everyone who believed in me. Now I want to prove myself in Bosnia — show that Nigerian forwards are ready for the next level.”
Desouza moved into the spotlight in the NPFL 2024/25 season, scoring regularly, winning the Player of the Month award in February, and helping Abia Warriors secure impressive results. His pace, finishing, and ability to compete under pressure have attracted attention.
Referring to his ambitions, he added:
“I watched FK Radnik Bijeljina in some matches, and I believe I can adapt to their style. I’m ready to work hard, fight for opportunities, and hopefully push the team forward.”
Desouza also mentioned that this move could aid his aspirations of earning a call-up to the Super Eagles, given the visibility European football offers.
While the financial terms of the deal haven’t been made public, insiders believe it could be a breakthrough for both the player and Radnik Bijeljina. For Nigerian football fans, it would be another example of NPFL talent making the leap to international clubs.
If confirmed, the signing may open doors — for both Desouza’s personal growth and for young Nigerian strikers dreaming of making it abroad.
