Emelem Withdraws Players From KG Sports Squad For Bet9ja-DFA State League

Emelem FC Umunede has recalled the players on Loan to KG Sports ahead of the Bet9ja-DFA State League following a disagreement on name of Club to register in the State League due to Kick Off February 12th.

It will be recalled that Emelem FC recently loaned out 6 players to KG Sports Academy Agbor which was later increased to 12, however the Sponsor of Emelem FC, was reportedly said to have asked that his Name be added to the Registered team but this couldn’t be done before the deadline of 28th January when the draws were held.

According to the Director of KG Sports Academy Dr. Ken Gadaffi who told Sports247.ng from his base in Cambodia, ” We couldn’t have changed the name of the club for the Bet9ja-DFA State League just on the basis of loaning players to us, that is unethical considering the fact that the Emelem Sponsors only want to Sponsor his own players not the team”

“Besides, there are regulations by the Organizers of the League on name changes which we haven’t met so no way to just change the name like that ” Gadaffi Stated.

With as many as 14 Emelem players now withdrawn KG Sports is left with only 11 players on the list with only 8 days to kick off.

“Yeah it’s a delinma for us because we took about 45 players to our training camp at Asaba before we selected our 25 man Squad, we will look inwards to replace this players and only hope the Organizers will give us room to do that before the deadline elapse” he responded .

“We won’t be affected, we are taking a young team for the League, we have an average of U19 players and the goal is to expose these players to top flight football, we will give them the chance and see the results we get” the erudite Sports Administrator stated.

Dr. Ken Gadaffi has returned to his base in Cambodia after 2 years in Nigeria developing Grassroots Football in Delta State.
