Emelem, Unity Maintains Unbeaten Run

Emelem United FC and Unity Stars FC continued their unbeaten run in the Ika Grassroots Football League with Wins to take their points to 12 on top of the table.

Emelem walked over Galilee FC Uteogbeje and earned 3 points and 3 goals while Unity Stars showed resilience against Visiting Akumazi United to win 4-1.

Emmanuel’s Lone strike for Akumazi was barely a consolation and was the visitors first goal of the season.

Rainbow FC recorded their back to back victory with a 4-1 Win over Divine Acadeny, Ekpenisi Lugard scored a brace while Lorenzo Meshack added to his goal tally with a strike to make.it 3 goals in 2 matches, Biboka Iweka scored for Divine only for Okoko Chinemerem put the icing on the cake for the Coach Mathew led Rainbow’s.

Winners FC overcame an early scare in the hands of Green Rangers after onyeka controversial goal gave the Visitors the lead in the 15th minute.
Winners returned in the second half after a prolonged argument over the goal to score 3 goals in the second half from Ernest Okonkwo, Christian Ebuh, and Uche.

On Sunday, KG Sports Academy defeated Ika Lions FC 1-0 to take their points to 8 and 4 behind leaders. Emmanuel Emefiele capitalised on a goalkeeper blunder to score in the 65th minute. A rejuvenated Ika Lions fought hard and denied the Academy boys more scoring chances.

Ika Grassroots Football League will enter week 5 with games set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Green Rangers will host IKA Lions at their Gbenoba ground Unity Stars will visit Emelem at Umunede.

Akumazi will be looking for their first win when they host Divine FA at Akumazi.

On Thursday Galilee FC will host Winners FC while KG Sports will travel to University of Delta Agbor to face Rainbow FC
