Emanuel Emegha’s Move To Chelsea On Hold Till Summer Transfer Window

Strasbourg of France striker, Emanuel Emegha will not enjoy an accelerated move to Chelsea of England in the January transfer window, as officials at his French Ligue 1 club are not willing to release him.

Sports247 reports that, in contrast with initial speculation that Chelsea could make a demand to have Emegha earlier, due to an injury copped by Liam Delap, Strasbourg are insisting on the original plan to allow him leave in the summer.

Both clubs are owned by the same management firm, which analysts felt would make a switch easier for Emegha from Strasbourg to Stamford Bridge, but latest information indicates that the move will only happen next summer.

He is expected to sign a seven-year deal with The Blues, who are impressed by his record of four goals and two assists so far this season for his French Ligue 1 side.

Emegha was last week suspended by Strasbourg for falling short of their ‘values, expectations and rules,’ thereby reigniting talk about a possible early exit, but the Nigerian-born Netherlands international later apologized for his comments.

A report by Daily Mail added: “Chelsea are not attempting to bring the young scorer in earlier than expected once the January transfer window opens, despite the shoulder injury to Liam Delap.

“The Englishman has already missed a chunk of the season, and he looks set for another long absence. Despite this, Chelsea will not rush Emegha to West London and will instead rely on Pedro Neto, Marc Guiu or Tyrique George if needed.”
