Nigerian female boxer Elizabeth Oshoba has expressed excitement and confidence ahead of her upcoming fight against Chelsey Arnell, scheduled for April 5 in the United Kingdom.
Oshoba will feature on the undercard of the high-profile clash between Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper, a platform she believes presents another opportunity to showcase her quality on the international stage.

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) No.1 contender will face Arnell over six three-minute rounds, the same duration used in men’s boxing — a format Oshoba says she has fully prepared for.
“I’m really excited about this fight,” Oshoba said. “It’s another big opportunity for me to show what I can do and why I belong at the top level.”
A six-time Nigerian national amateur champion, Oshoba has built a solid reputation through consistency and hard work. Her résumé includes medals from the African Games, African Zone 3 Championships and the Commonwealth Games, achievements she says continue to motivate her professional journey.
“Every fight now matters,” she explained. “I’ve put in a lot of work over the years, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”
Oshoba described the six-round format as a challenge she welcomes, stressing that it aligns with her physical preparation and fighting style.
“I’ve trained for this,” she said. “Six three-minute rounds demand endurance, focus and discipline, and I’m ready for that.”
The boxer also acknowledged the significance of fighting on a major UK card, noting that exposure at that level could open the door to even bigger opportunities.
“Being on a card like this means people are watching,” Oshoba noted. “It’s a chance to make a statement and keep pushing towards a world title shot.”
Despite the occasion, Oshoba insists her mindset remains grounded.
“I’m calm and focused,” she added. “I respect my opponent, but once I step into the ring, it’s about executing my plan.”
She concluded by assuring fans of a strong performance.
“I promise Nigerians and boxing fans a great fight,” Oshoba said. “I’m ready to give my best and keep moving forward.”
