Elisha Sowunmi Joins Dominic Solanke At Tottenham Hotspur

Nigerian-born striker, Dominic Solanke has received the opportunity of playing ‘big brother’ to a younger compatriot with a similar name, as Spurs have formally welcomed Elisha Sowumi into their squad.

Sports247 reports that the deal for Sowumi was officially announced on the same evening when Solanke scored a dramatic goal that saved Tottenham from defeat in the English Premier League.

The acrobatic effort by Solanke, which was dubbed ‘Scorpion Goal,’ further underscored the former Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth star’s new impact, following several weeks out with injury.

Solanke will now also have to play the role of motivator to 18-year-old Sowumi, who arrives with very high recommendations from their fellow-London-based EPL rivals, West Ham United.

A report by Tribal Football added, “Tottenham Hotspur have clinched the signing of West Ham winger, Elisha Sowunmi on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.

“The 18-year-old departs for Spurs after ten years with The Hammers, during which he progressed through all the age groups before winning the U18 Premier League Cup last season, assisting both goals in the final against Reading.

“Sowunmi leaves West Ham with his deal to expire at the end of the season. By allowing the teen to leave this month, West Ham have negotiated a sell-on clause as part of the deal.”
