Eletu Coach Worried Over Team’s Form Despite Win

Coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club, Isreal Adegolu has expressed disappointment with his team’s performance despite their 4-2 victory over G Innovation Football Club in a friendly match played on Friday morning at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

Adegolu in a chat with sports 247.ng after the encounter admitted that his boys did not live up to expectations and urged them to remain focused and steadfast in their subsequent matches.

He described their match against G Innovation as a worse recent friendly match saying that any player fails to meet the club expectations would be asked to go.

“I am disappointed and worried about the performance of my players against G Innovationis.Let me say that our friendly match against G Innovation was not too impressive.Although we won but if you look our performance generally,my players played below club expectations.

“We want the boys to wake up from their slumbers and I won’t accept average players in the team.Any player plays below club expectations would face the consequences and all the players know what Eletu stand for when it comes to football in the state,”he said.

In his response, G Innovation coach, Anthony Ibechodo Chikwdi said his players were not cordinated on the field of play which cost their defeat.

He however praised their opponents for the brilliant performance saying that defeat was a wake up call.

He also commended Eletu FC management for giving them an opportunity to play their team and congratulated them for their hard fought victory.

Meanwhile Oboh Raymond opened the goal account for Eletu boys in the 22th minutes.Eletu goal spurred their oppenents to increase the tempo of the game as their effort was rewarded through Solomon Nwachukwu.

Both teams played purposeful football in an encounter watched by football fans.Chinedu Emmanuel scored the second goal for Eletu before refree signalled for the half time.

A penalty was awarded to Eletu in the early second half and was quickly converted by Sulaiman Lawal.Oboh who was tormenting the G Innovation defence from the blast of whistle scored the the fourth goal at the close range to take the game beyond the reach of their opponents.

Adams Olanrewaju reduced the tally for G Innovation when he took a shot from the distance to beat Eletu goalie, Taiwo to end the pulsating tie 4-2 in favour of Lagos City Cup finalist.
