The 16-year-old clocked an outstanding 7.43 seconds to break the previous mark of 7.48 seconds, which had stood since 2000.
The former record was set by French sprint hurdles standout Ladji Doucouré, making Ejiasan’s achievement particularly symbolic on French soil.
Born in 2009, Ejiasan has lived in France since infancy but represents Nigeria in international competition.
His decision to compete for Nigeria adds to the growing list of diaspora athletes contributing to the nation’s athletics resurgence.
Beyond hurdles, Ejiasan also competes in the long jump, underlining his versatility and athletic range.
However, it was his explosive speed and technical efficiency over the barriers that captured attention at the championship event.
The record-breaking run signals his arrival on the global stage and positions him as one of the brightest young prospects in world athletics.
With continued development and structured guidance, Ejiasan could become a major contender in senior international competitions in the years ahead.
For Nigeria, his achievement represents not only a historic milestone but also a glimpse into a promising future in track and field.
