Efe Ajagba Returns to the Ring on Valentine’s Day Against Former IBF Champion Charles Martin

Nigerian heavyweight contender Efe Ajagba is set to make his return to the ring on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, when he takes on former IBF World Heavyweight Champion Charles Martin in the main event of Zuffa Boxing 2.

The bout will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the matchup first reported by renowned boxing journalist Dan Rafael.

The clash promises fireworks as both fighters look to reassert themselves in the crowded heavyweight division.

Martin, 38, boasts a professional record of 30 wins and four losses. He captured the IBF heavyweight title in 2016 after Tyson Fury vacated the belt, defeating Vyacheslav Glazkov when the Ukrainian suffered a fight-ending injury.

However, Martin’s reign was short-lived, as he lost the title in his first defense, suffering a second-round knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua.

Since then, the American has experienced mixed fortunes, going 7–3 in his last ten fights.

Consistency has eluded him, with wins and losses alternating across his last five outings.

He most recently returned to winning ways with a knockout victory over Matthew McKinney in November 2025.

Ajagba enters the contest with a record of 20 wins, one loss, and one draw.

The 31-year-old power puncher is coming off a majority draw against Martin Bakole on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Scull event.

Prior to that result, Ajagba was on a five-fight winning streak and had claimed the WBC Silver Heavyweight title, strengthening his credentials as a top contender.

The Nigerian is also famously associated with one of boxing’s most unusual records — the fastest win in the sport’s history — after opponent Curtis Harper exited the ring just one second after the opening bell, resulting in a disqualification victory for Ajagba.
