Nigeria’s most promising professional boxer of the current generation, Efe Ajagba has disagreed with the panel of judges who declared his heavyweight showdown with Martin Bakole as a draw, saying he believes he won the fight.
Sports247 gathered that two of the judges for Saturday night’s battle in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia declared the scorecard level at 95-95, while only one gave it 96-94 to Ajagba, but the USA-based Nigerian fighter insists he defeated his opponent from Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ajagba’s case appeared to have been buoyed by verdicts that went in his favour from various independent fight assessors and media reports, two of which gave him victory at 96-94 and 190-145.
Ajagba, who is fondly called ‘The Silent Roller,’ decided to be vocal this time, but he quickly admitted that the judges’ decision cannot be overturned, except he goes on to prove himself right by whipping the highly rated Congolese pugilist in a rematch.
“I won the fight (but) it’s not on me to decide. The judges score the fight, but (I know that) I won the fight. Of course, I want the rematch,” Ajagba roared.
