Prior to his spell with Akwa, Coach Edward began his professional coaching career as the assistant coach at Ikot Ekpene United, a grassroots team in Akwa Ibom. In his three-year spell, he would see the team reach two finals of the young stars championship before guiding the team to Governor’s Cup finals as the head coach which they won in 2018.

In his time with The Promise Keepers, Coach Edward was an integral part of the backroom staff who guided the club to its most recent NPFL triumph in 2021 and also directly oversaw training for the U-15 sides who he guided to the knockout stages of various editions of the La Liga U-15 Championship.

Speaking on his appointment here at Sporting Lagos, Coach Edward is in high spirits and is excited to contribute his quota to the next chapter of our success.

“What excites me the most about coming here was the project we’re building. This is a club with a thoroughly planned roadmap and I’m excited to be here.” Coach Edward said.

We wish Coach Edward Green a successful career here at Sporting Lagos as he works hand-in-hand with Coach Paul and the rest of the team.
