Bristol Flyers of England have sent a message of congratulations to their Nigerian-born forward, Daniel Edozie, after he was named to the latest British Basketball League (BBL) team of the week, after.

Sports247.ng gathered that Edozie got his latest career highlight after putting up a brilliant outing in his side’s win over Cheshire Phoenix, in which he scored his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and same number of rebounds.

Dramatically, the victory came few hours after narrowly missing out on a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds in the overtime win against Plymouth Raiders.

It is a return to the spotlight he first gained in December 2016, then followed up in October 2017, when he was named in the first BBL team of the week of the 2017/18 season.

Back in 2016, Edozie’s performance against Surrey Scorchers earned him his latest spot in the BBL Team of the Week.

The 2018 Commonwealth Games international netted 19 points and 12 rebounds during the Flyers’ 80-73 victory to ensure Coach K’s side avenged their recent defeat against Surrey.

Later on, in October 2017, during an opening weekend dominated by guards, Edozie was one of the few front court players to post a pivotal display.

The powerhouse player helped Flyers win the south-west derby against Plymouth with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, including a monster alley-oop play, to support the impressive efforts of Rohndell Goodwin and Brandon Boggs in the backcourt.

Back to the present, Edozie will now aim to justify his latest rating when The Flyers return to competitive action at SGS College Arena, after three successive away games, when they host London Lions on Friday, April 5.
