Commencing the 2023/24 NWPL Season, Confluence Queens Faces Dannaz Ladies FC in Venue Transition

The Edo State University Stadium Uzaiure, Iyamoh, is set to be inaugurated as the new home ground for Confluence Queens Football Club of Lokoja.

On Wednesday, 15th November 2023, they will host Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos.

The decision to make Edo State the new home base has been influenced by the deteriorating state of the Confluence Stadium.

Consequently, the New Direction Queens have been compelled to play all their home matches away.

As the 2023/24 Nigeria Women’s Premier League season commences on Wednesday at various centres.

Dannaz Ladies FC will be the first opponent Confluence Queens faces on their adopted turf.

Chairman Abdulmalik Isah urges players and officials to show resilience and fight as the season begins for Confluence Queens FC.

Acknowledging venue change challenges, assurances are given that issues will be resolved, enabling Confluence Queens FC to return to Lokoja.

According to him ” I want to first of all, appreciate you all for your sacrifice and understanding during this period,

the stadium will soon be put in place as the government has promised to get everything fixed.”

Group A for the 2023/24 NWPL sees Confluence Queens alongside familiar adversaries Nasarawa Amazons, Abia Angels, Naija Ratels, Adamawa Queens, Heartland Queens, and Royal Queens.
