Other members of the board include Percy Okojie, Hon. Frank Ilaboya, Dr. Benson Ogala, Femi Johnson, Oghuma Peter Osagie, and Iraoya Olariwanju Joshua.

In his inaugural address, Hon. Enabulele emphasized the importance of teamwork, sponsorship, and consistent engagement in competitions to develop athletes’ potential.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in our collective journey to strengthen and elevate the standard of sports development in our state,” Enabulele stated. “As chairman of your association, you carry a huge responsibility. I urge you to actively seek sponsorships to sustain and propel the growth of the sport. Financial support is the lifeblood of sports, and partnerships will provide the resources necessary to nurture our athletes and advance our programmes.”

He further stressed accessibility and accountability, encouraging board members to remain available to athletes, coaches, and stakeholders, and announced quarterly appraisal meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.

Chairman Albert Erhumusele, who previously led the Edo Boxing Association Board, pledged to promote armwrestling in Edo State with the same dedication seen in countries such as America and Australia.

“I switched to armwrestling because I wanted to work with committed people and achieve measurable results,” Erhumusele said. “We will keep athletes engaged with regular competitions, ensuring they are prepared for major national tournaments. Armwrestling is a sport of strength and strategy, and Edo has already shown great potential to become a leading force in Nigeria.”

The inauguration of the board marks a new era for armwrestling in Edo State, with both the Sports Commission and the Association committed to creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and positioning Edo athletes for national and international success.
