The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has expressed strong confidence in the ability of Team Edo to perform well in cricket, kickboxing, gymnastics, and Kung Fu at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

After watching Edo’s opening cricket match against Delta State at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Hon. Enabulele praised the team’s effort and determination.
“Our male and female cricket teams remain one of our strongest assets and consistent contenders for gold medals,” he said. “I’m impressed with the men’s performance and I urge them to sustain the momentum.”
He said the Commission will continue to support the cricket teams fully, adding that their strength and consistency make them key medal hopefuls.
Hon. Enabulele also visited other venues to encourage Edo athletes, including the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ikenne, where Edo’s weightlifters are competing.
By 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Edo had won 32 medals: 4 Gold, 14 Silver, and 14 Bronze.
John Aladetun led in the 67kg men’s weightlifting category, winning 2 Gold and 1 Silver. Kelly Alonge added 2 Gold medals in Kung Fu Daoshu.
Also, the Edo female handball team defeated Kano State 33–15 at the Alake Sports Centre.
