Edo Queens Sign Ghanaian Goalkeeper Charlotte Adjei Ahead Of New NWFL Season

Edo Queens Football Club has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Charlotte Adjei, in a strategic move to strengthen the team ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

The unveiling ceremony was held in Benin City and attended by key officials, including the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, and the General Manager of Edo Queens FC, Mr. Rollanson Odeh.

Adjei, who was recently named NWFL Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season after keeping 10 clean sheets in 19 matches for Remo Stars Ladies, joins the reigning NWFL champions with a reputation for consistency and strong performances.

Hon. Enabulele expressed confidence in the new signing, stating, “We are pleased to welcome Adjei Charlotte to Edo Queens. Her experience and talent will undoubtedly add value to our team as we aim for greater success in the league and on the continental stage.”

General Manager Rollanson Odeh echoed similar sentiments, noting that the acquisition aligns with the club’s ongoing efforts to build a strong and competitive squad capable of defending their league title and making an impact in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Charlotte Adjei previously played for Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Nigeria’s Rivers Angels before her standout 2024/25 season with Remo Stars Ladies. She was also the recipient of the Judith Chime Safe Hands Award, which came with a ₦200,000 cash prize.

Edo Queens, who won their first-ever NWFL title in May 2024 and clinched the WAFU‑B Women’s Champions League trophy in August, continue to invest in top talent as they prepare for a demanding 2025 campaign at both domestic and continental levels
