As one of the experienced player in the team, Edet bemonaned the team’s woeful outing last season in the NLO.

“There’s nothing we can do about it but I’m trying to let them know how it’s been done better and also showing the new guys how things are done here and they are picking up gradually which is very encouraging.”

“They are learning so fast and I know that we will be good by the next coming season,” he assured.

“With the new players that we have now, I’m very sure that we will do more because last season, we had many new players that just joined so the pattern of play wasn’t an easy one for them to assimilate within that short period of time but I know this season, everyone of us will give our best.”

Applauding the management for a good job well-done, he allayed, “the management are really trying their best for us to improve and be better. Their commitment to make sure that we are able to go out there and compete with the right structure is very plausible.”

On his personal ambitions away from the team – “Every player’s dream is to go to Europe and play and that’s my ambition as well. I want to play in one of the highest leagues abroad.”

On his role model – “Ter Stegen, I really love his composure, reflexes. So I learn from him a lot, watch his clips and games to be better in my game as well.

Speaking on the history maker last season, Raheem Salaudeen who was the youngest player at age 13 to appear in the NLO 1, the captain of the team praised his bravery as he backed him to achieve greater heights in football.

“I’m very happy with his attitude, he’s one of the youngest in the team and also in the league, I wish he keeps going in his development because the sky is his starting point.”

Edet concluded by promising fans of the club to be very optimistic this season as he vows that they will give thier best to the team so that they will have a better campaign than the last.
