Ededem Essien who joined FC Van on February 27, 2020 has had a good run throughout his season in the Armenian First League side also known as the second tier of league in Armenia.

Essien who was playing in Ghana before travelling to Armenia to sign his professional contract is considered an outstanding player home and abroad. The player who hails from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria has had over 11 (eleven) appearances since his debut in FC Van.

The 22 years old defensive midfielder has always had a starting place in the Armenian first league club and has also played all games for his club since he joined on 28th February.

According to his agent, Mr. Ojo Paul Omamomo, “Ededem is a rising star, I believe in a short time he will be playing in a bigger club. FC Van is a starting point for him.”

Ededem who has given over 5 assists this season since joining the team has also contributed to the promotion of his team to Armenian Premier League which is the tier one of the Armenian league system.

For Ededem it is believed that he has the same ball play and tactics like Mikel Obi (Nigerian international) or Sergio Busquets because of his pattern of game. Midfielder Ededem appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

For me, I like learning because nobody knows too much. I am happy because I have made several people proud especially my agent, Mr. Ojo Omamomo, Pst Nyediong Thomas and my family I believe God is on my side”, said Ededem.
