Ebuehi back in training after 8months, could make Eagles AFCON squad

Benfica right back Tyronne Ebuehi is finally back in training in Portugal after spending eight month on injury layoff and his chances of making Gernot Rohr’s AFCON squad is now brighter.

Ebuehi joined Benfica in the summer on a free transfer from Dutch side ADO Den Haag after impressing for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia but an injury picked up in pre season ruled him out of the entire campaign.

Following a successful surgery, the 23 year old ‎trained with the rest of the Benfica squad for the first time two days back and shared his joy with a post on his social media handle.

Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr said last week that he will send a fitness coach to work with the right full back to help improve and also gauge his fitness level before deciding on including him in his AFCON squad.
