Arsenal’s England coach, Mikel Arteta has taken a closer look at the London-based club’s Nigerian-born midfielder, Eberechi Eze and concluded emphatically that the lad’s attitude is phenomenal, Sports247 reports.
Despite arriving on a high during last year’s summer at the club that initially dropped him as a 13-year-old rookie, things are yet to turn out aplomb, as much as he would have loved to have it on his return to Anfield.
However, rather than be moody during matches, the England international, who was highly celebrated after his £60m arrival from fellow London-based English Premier League side, Crystal Palace, is taking his downturn with equanimity.
The deeply religious lad ended his debut campaign under Arteta with 10 goals across all competitions and helped The Gunners end their 22-year wait to win the EPL title once again, but the current season has started on another dull and paltry note for him.
So far this season, Eze is yet to get a regular starting role under Arteta, and there is no goal to his name, but the Spanish tactician has now called on other players in the team to help the Nigerian-born dazzler take the step up.
“Like everybody else, he needs to earn the right to play. That comes down to training sessions, and when you are on that pitch, to have the impact on the game that the team needs.
“Eze is going to have many opportunities to do that. His attitude is phenomenal and our players have to adapt as well to his qualities,” Arteta submitted pointedly.
