Arsenal of England dazzler, Eberechi Eze will go for another scan in the coming days to determine the extent of an injury that kept him out of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, which his side lost 2-0 against Manchester City, Sports247 reports.

Against all expectations, Eze was conspicuously absent in The Gunners’ squad for the clash at Wembley Stadium in London and, as his side crumbled without him, their hopes of a quadruple of titles went crashing.
However, beyond the team’s nightmarish day in the British capital, Eze has a lot more to worry about, as his latest injury setback might affect his chances of being part of England’s squad to this year’s FIFA World Cup.
This follows reports that Newcastle winger, Harvey Barnes has been called up to replace the 27-year-old Eze in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for their friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, with the Nigerian-born lad forced out due to injury.
A report by The Standard added, “(Eze) was forced off in the second-leg win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last 16 in midweek, but trained in the build-up to the final and it had been hoped that he would be fit to face City.
“However, despite Arsenal’s attempts to get Eze available, he was left out of the squad and will now not be involved in England duty as Thomas Tuchel’s side play key pre-World Cup friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley.”
Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta disclosed that Eze is down with a calf strain, ahead of the final international break before the World Cup, and conceded, “We have to do another scan in six or seven days and wait to see the results.”
