Eberechi Eze Receives Strong Backing From Thierry Henry

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has extended a strong voice of support to the English Premier League club’s latest sensation, Eberechi Eze, who he believes should be handed The Gunners’ creative role in midfield, Sports247 reports.

Henry took another look at Eze’s stunning hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and declared that the Nigerian-born England international deserves the number 10 jersey he got on his arrival at Emirates Stadium.

Eze had himself stated his appreciation at the kind of support he is getting that has made him settle down fast, after his summer switch from London rivals, Crystal Palace, but Henry believes the in-form lad should be given more duties in midfield.

The Gunners’ former captain reasoned further that the EPL’s current table toppers will enjoy Eze better if they give him a permanent starting spot and creative duties in their midfield department.

“I said it, this guy is a 10. For me, he’s not a winger … he’s a 10. He needs to be in the middle of the park. He showed it (and) that’s what you want, healthy competition,” Henry said about Eze, who got the first hat-trick in a North London derby since 1978.
