Abia Warriors football club has officially promoted two of its Team B sensational youngsters to the first team in view of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional league season.
The duo of Samuel Ogbonna and Mmegwa Yagazie is expected to team up with the main team on the resumption of the team as they would be given a level playing opportunity to prove themselves under the new gaffer, Coach Imama Amapakabo.
Reacting to the promotion of the youngsters into the Abia Warriors main team, Abia Warriors Sporting Director, Mr. Patrick Ngwaogu, described the decision of Abia Warriors Management as a step in the right direction.
“Identifying, recruiting, and developing young players is a key part of our strategy and tradition here in Abia Warriors. We have some great talent coming through our younger age groups, the challenge is to help them make the most of their abilities.
“Our goal is to create a ‘transition team’ which is aimed at creating a clear framework for our young players to fulfill their potential at the highest level” he concluded.
