Dar es Salaam— Young Africans striker Prince Dube went into the CAF Champions League second leg against Angola’s Wiliete Benguela vowing to deliver a hat-trick at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Instead, the night belonged to his teammates Pacôme Zouzoua and Aziz Andabwile, who struck in the 72nd and 86th minutes to secure a 2–0 win and a commanding 5–0 aggregate passage to the next round.
Dube, who admitted missing several chances in the first leg despite scoring once in the 3–0 away victory, had promised fans a historic performance in Dar es Salaam. “I believe I am going to set a record of scoring a hat trick in the Champions League match,” he had declared on the eve of the match. But the Zimbabwean forward was unable to find the net this time, his scoring vow unfulfilled.

Still, Yanga showed their strength in depth as Zouzoua broke the deadlock with a clever finish, before substitute Andabwile doubled the advantage late on, confirming the Tanzanian champions’ dominance over their Angolan opponents.
After the match, Wiliete Benguela coach Bruno Ferry conceded that his side was outclassed, praising Yanga’s squad as “top-class” and identifying Zouzoua as “one of the most dangerous players” on the pitch.
For Yanga, the result reinforced their status as one of East Africa’s giants, while for Dube, the night was a reminder that even the best-laid promises sometimes give way to the team’s collective power.
