D’Tigers Head Out To Senegal Next Month

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers will head out to Senegal late next month, for the sixth and final window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

Sports247.ng reports that D’Tigers, who are unbeaten in the qualifiers, will face Cote d’Ivoire, Central African Republic and hosts, Senegal in the second leg of Group F.

With Nigeria, Tunisia and Angola already qualified for the FIBA World Cup in August, the last two tickets on offer for African countries will be determined in Dakar from February 22 to 24.

Senegal are second on the log followed by CAR, Cote d’Ivoire, Rwanda and Mali respectively.

The second best team and best third-placed from the two groups will qualify for the World Cup in China, from August 31 to September 15.

Cameroon who are third in Group E with 19 points still stand a chance of qualifying only if the third best team in Group F finish lower.

The six-team tournament is expected to hold in the new Dakar Arena, located on the outskirts of the Senegalese capital.
