Driver, Karota official Steering Scuffle Leads To Death Of Kano Weightlifting Coach

A weightlifting coach attached to Kano state sports commission (KSSC) Baba Yusuf on Saturday died in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along club road, Kano.

According to an eye witness account, the deceased who rode on a motorcycle was on his way to the commission’s office when the incident occurred.

The eye witness disclosed that a dark blue Volkswagen golf wagon with registration number Bauchi KTG 174 AA was responsible for the sad incidence.

The witness further said “that a K arota official in a hot chase of the vehicle ended in a scuffle with the driver, the K arota official gripped the steering and as a result of the tangle, the motion vehicle swerved and knocked down late Baba who was on motion and dragged the body of the deceased on the tarred road, thereby culminating to the death of the victim”.

“Passersby rushed to the scene, pulled out the remains of the deceased and his shattered motorcycle from underneath the Volkswagen wagon”.

The Spokesman Kano State Sports Commission, Sabo Abatti who confirmed the incident, stated that the Commission received the news of the incidence with a rude shock.

He revealed that the deceased have served the Commission for a period that lasted over two decades of meritious service before his demise

Our Correspondence gathered that the remains of Baba had been deposited at a morgue.

Until his death, the deceased is reported to be married with children.
