Draws For The Maiden 2021 My Anambra Football ‘Super 8’ Tournament Holds In Awka

The Draws for the maiden edition of 2021 My Anambra Football ‘Super 8′ tournament was on Saturday held at the Anambra Football Association Secretariat. The competition which is bankrolled by Aspire FC Adazi Ani had a total of 27 clubs in attendance for the upcoming football extravaganza.

The competition draws which was conducted by the Chairman of the organizing committee and a member of the board, Prince Oliver Ndigwe alongside the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) secretary, Mr. Chijioke Onyedika, was held based on Senatorial zones for clubs in Anambra South, Anambra North, and Anambra Central zones.

According to information made available to sportswriters, participating clubs are expected to submit their players’ license on or before 4 pm on Tuesday, 26th January 2021. There will be a free medical examination for players of the participating clubs from Anambra Central on Wednesday, 27th January 2021 at the Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, with that of Anambra North holding on Thursday, 28th January 2021 at Otuocha Stadium Otuocha while that of Anambra South holds on Friday, 29th January 2021 at Ekwulobia Township Stadium Ekwulobia. The zonal playoff matches will hold from 1st to 3rd February 2021 at a yet be announced four designated centers.

In the draws for Anambra Central Zone, a total of 13 clubs featured in the draws, three clubs were drawn bye, Oliver Charles FC Ogidi, Konti FC Umunnachi, and Pope Johnpaul FC Okpuno. Global City FC Umunnachi will square up against Smith City FC Awka, Young African FC Nawgu will trade tackles with FC Harkdove Awka, Uncle Ralph FC Mgbakwu versus Ogene FC Obeledu, Solar Spider FC Nibo versus Peace FC Awka while United FA Amawbia will face off with DOSAD FA Enugwu-Ukwu.

Eight clubs registered for the tournament from Anambra North Zone, in the draws, Emmykings FC Nsugbe will play against Golden Boys FC Onitsha, Ozalla FC Onitsha versus Big-T Global FC Umunya, Ifechikwulu FC Omor versus Nesaco Int’L FC Nkwelle Ezunaka as Macpee FC Omambela will test the might of Ogbaru United FC Okpoko. In the draws for Anambra South Zone, six clubs registered interest for the tournament with GP World FA Nnewi and Ihiala United FC Ihiala drawn bye, Mecon FC Umunze will tackle Ajalli United FC Ajalli while Rangels FC Achina will play John Paul FC Ihembosi.
