Lobi Stars Football Club Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, has urged the U19 team to be good ambassadors of Benue State as they depart for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U19 Youth Championship playoff in Abia State.
Represented by Club Secretary Dr. Iorgulum Malu, Dr. Nongu emphasised the importance of representing the state with integrity and dignity on and off the pitch.

Dr. Nongu, who is also overseeing the affairs of the Youth, Sports and Creativity Ministry in acting capacity, praised the state Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his unwavering commitment to football development in the state, noting that his support has received widespread applause. He charged the youngsters to be dedicated, disciplined, and focused, stressing that securing the available slot is crucial.

” I appreciate our sports-loving governor, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his massive support for football development, let us reciprocate the governor’s gesture by securing the zonal ticket”, he explained.
The Chairman’s remarks were supported by the NFF Coordinator Youth Talent Development Scheme as well as the team’s coordinator and board member, Dr. Solomon Andiir, who lauded Dr. Nongu’s leadership and assured the youngsters of his contribution to motivate them if they secure the playoff slot.
Lobi Stars Team Captain Daniel Onu, while responding on behalf of the players, thanked the management for providing a glorious platform for them to showcase their talents, promising positive representation at the zonal playoff.
