Manchester United winger, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu has revealed that The Red Devils were able to win last weekend’s derby because their new coach, Michael Carrick has brought a ‘forward-looking mentality’ into the team.

Sports247 reports that Dorgu struck in the 76th minute with one of the goals that helped United defeat Manchester City 2-0 on Saturday, and the Nigerian-born lad put it all down to Carrick’s early impact at Old Trafford.
Dorgu, who has three goals in 12 international appearances for Denmark, equally thanked his new coach for bringing a positive approach into the scheme of things at the once-gigantic Engllish Premier League outfit.
Saturday’s goal was Dorgu’s second for United, which he joined in February 2025 from Lecce of Italy, and the 21-year-old lad, who was born in Copenhagen, believes he will get more through the tactics Carrick has introduced into the squad.
“We’ve got a new coach and it’s been really good for us. We have had really good workouts with him, and everyone is positive. It hasn’t really changed, but it’s just the intensity and the way he wants us to play.
“He just wants us to be forward-looking all the time. It’s not about changes, but about the mentality as a group,” declared Dorgu, whose first Man U goal sank Newcastle United 1-0 on December 26th.
