Tottenham Hotspur’s Nigerian-born striker, Dominic Solanke has thanked his teammates for ‘showing grit’ and putting up a great fight during last weekend’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester United in the English Premier League.

Sports247 reports that, despite having a man sent off early in the game at Old Trafford, Spurs proved all critics wrong by snatching an away point, and it came from a late equaliser by Solanke.
However, rather than take all credit for his heroic effort, the former star of Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth chose to give plaudits to all his pals, who he praised for their resurgence at a point the game appeared to be beyond them.
It was also a personal lift for Solanke, who has been under fire from fans of the London-based club, due to the England fringe international’s struggles in front of goal since the closing phase of last season, which was his second year in the team.
Tottenham are still without a win after six games so far in the EPL this season, but Solanke believes the zeal they showed last weekend and the result they eventually got are evocative of a positive turnaround of fortune in the coming fixtures.
A report by Tribal Football adds, “Roberto De Zerbi’s team returned from the international break with a 1-1 draw away at Manchester United and his side have only scored three goals – the second lowest in the top-flight.
“Spurs are almost certain to bring in a new attacker at the start of 2027, despite securing a season-long loan from Manchester City for Omar Marmoush, and the club are still looking to offload Richarlison.
“Dominic Solanke snatched a last minute equaliser at Old Trafford, to open his top-flight account for 2026/27. He is determined to stay and fight for his place in North London, but Spurs fans remain unconvinced by his ability to score goals on a consistent basis.”
Sports247 gathered further that last weekend’s sizzler will surely give the injury-prone Solanke some breathing space and more confidence to excel this term, as he seeks to improve from just 12 goals scored across two seasons at the London-based Lilly Whites.
