Nigerian-born striker, Dominic Solanke has received an assurance that his place remains intact in Tottenham Hotspur’s squad for the UEFA Champions League, Sports247 reports.

This is in contrast with speculation that emerged Tuesday night that Solanke was on the verge of being replaced by Mathys Tel, due to his long-standing battle with injury.
However, Solanke would breathe better after Spurs’ coach, Thomas Frank downplayed speculation about Tel stepping in for the injured former Liverpool, Chelsea and Bournemouth hitman.
Speculation about a likely replacement for Solanke erupted across Tottenham Stadium on Tuesday night, as Tel made his first Champions League appearance of the campaign.
Tel’s debut came after the London-based club took a late decision to introduce him into the UCL squad in place of Solanke, who last played for Tottenham on August 23.
UEFA rules allow a change if a player is sidelined for 60 days, thereby making it possible to replace Solanke, who has been troubled by an ankle injury all season, despite receiving surgery at the start of October.
Frank, though, parried talk about Solanke getting the axe permanently, as he retorted: “No, it was just an opportunity to get Tel in, which is nice to have that opportunity. And we can change back if we want to do that.”
