Dominic Solanke Admits Tottenham Need To ‘Figure Out’ Their Survival Very Quickly

Tottenham Hotspur of England’s Nigerian-born striker, Dominic Solanke has admitted his team are in danger of being relegated from the English Premier League and submitted that they need to ‘figure out’ their survival quickly.

Sports247 reports that the former Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth hitman spoke against the backdrop of Tottenham’s 3-1 loss at home in Thursday’s London derby with Crystal Palace.

The slump was Spurs’ 14th defeat this season, which left them just one point and two places above the EPL’s relegation spots, with only nine games left to play.

It also marked a continuum of Spurs’ struggles all through the season and put more pressure on their new coach, Igor Tudor, who has lost each of his three games in charge.

Commenting on the fiasco at the 2019 UEFA Champions League finalists, Solanke, who put his side ahead on Thursday before a red card tore them apart, revealed that the plyers have held recovery talks among themselves.

With the London-based side now sitting a point above the drop zone, Solanke acknowledged they will be in for a feisty battle when they play Liverpool at Anfield in their next league fixture but urged the squad to fight for survival.

He added that all the players came to grips with the reality of relegation staring them in the eyes, then pointed out that they have resolved among themselves what has to be done to prevent a notorious slump.

Solanke disclosed: “We’ve just had a big conversation. We know the position we are in is definitely not where we want to be, so we need to figure out how we are going to get out of it as soon as possible.

“We know there’s been difficulties, but we’re not in a position to make any excuses anymore. We need to do the job on the pitch. It is easy to say we want to be better, but we want to be better on the pitch.

“We need to fight and realise the position we are in. We know the club is not used to being in this position, so we need to understand it and understand it’s not going to be easy and we need to fight every single game, to make sure we improve.”
