Dolphins’ Basketball Team Target Glory In Final-6

Dolphins of Lagos have set their sight on returning to glory ways in the final-six contest of Nigeria’s female basketball league, and their basic asset is continuity.

This much sports247.ng learnt is the verdict the former champions’ coach, Ochuko Okworogun, who reckons that longevity of players in his squad will make a world of difference for them this week.

Okworogun said Dolphins are banking on unity and togetherness to make a difference for them in the final six of the 2018 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League, which started in Lagos on Sunday.

This is despite the fact that Dolphins lost to defending champions, First Bank in the Atlantic Conference in Enugu, as Okworogun says they will correct all errors and shine in the final phase of the league.

The champions and first runners-up will represent Nigeria at the FIBA Zone 3 Women’s Champions qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin Republic from November 12 to 15, and Okworogun believes Dolphins will be one of the two sides to go international.

Okworogun said: The players have been together for a very long time; they know themselves.

“We are banking on togetherness and team unity, which helped us in Enugu, to do well in Lagos.”
