Do The Right Thing, Our Football Will Be Great Again – Udeogu Open Message To Football Administrators In Nigeria

C.E.O of Dominion Hotspur FC Fc of Lagos, Udeogu Emmanuel has called on the Nigeria Football Federation and football administrators in Nigeria to do the right thing that will put an end to the lack of successes on the National team.

In a Chat with Sports 247, Emmanuel stated that the country blessed with Numerous football talents, scattered all over the country and the World at large, we still lack in terms of being successful in our National team. He called on the administrators to pick the right players for the National team, based on merit, and not on bribery and relationships.

“The administrators refused to do the right thing. It is common with Nigerian Football. I don’t know why it’s like this and this is on every sector in Nigeria, not just football, but every sector of the Nigerian Economy too”.

“We need to do the right thing here, and we know the right thing to do. We have a lot of players scattered all over the country and the world at large, but still we are lacking, because we refuse to do the right thing”.

“The right thing is to pick players on merit. You don’t pick players in a compromising manner, because they are your brother or relatives. In my team (Dominion Hotspur FC in Lagos), my brothers came for the screening to join my team, but because they couldn’t meet the standards and level we set in the team, I had to send them home. Majority of the players I have here are from different locations, not even from my state”.

Even though I am an Igbo man, I don’t pick players based on sentiment and compromise, I pick players based on merit. So I think, if Nigerian administrators can leave sentiments and tribalism out of what they are doing, we will definitely get it right”, he emphasized.

Udeogu Emmanuel is the C.E.O of Dominion Hotspur FC of Lagos, whose vision is to nurture great football talents in Africa, most especially in Nigeria.
