Determined D’Warriors Wins As Tekena Drones Claim Pole Positions At MSPL 2023 Matchday 1 And 2

2023 Mindgames Scrabble Premier League(MSPL) campaigner D’Warriors said it’s performance at the first weekend of the championship was a reflection of preparations and team effort.

The Lagos state based team was the most exciting side as it topped the Division B table after the conclusion of Matchday 1 and 2 at the Ibeto Hotel where 12 teams engaged one another at the most glamorous scrabble league in the world.

D’Warriors shone brightly on Day 1 as Khaleel Adedeji hit a fine form navigating his way past his rivals.

With a great team effort on Matchday 2, D’Warriors complimented their standing on the Division B table to finish as champions of the first weekend of the season.

The team garnered a total of 17 wins with 7 games dropped while the Individual Players record revealed a total of 70 wins from 97 games to lead the pack at the end of proceedings in the Federal Capital Territory.

Second placed Anagrammers recorded a total of 15 victories while FPC Titans finished third with 14 wins. New entrant Striplings came fourth with 13 wins, same points with Sterling Bombers.

Bayelsa Virtuoso, Airpop Falcons, Encore Flamingos, Great Achievers,Aires, High Flyers and BSP Rangers occupied the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th positions respectively.

Speaking after the bouts of mind game, Adedeji who led the squad comprising Qamar Adebowale, Okim Eugene, Godsfavour Whiskey and Oghenekaro Onokpogbe said preparations and the addition of quality players lifted them above their rivals.

” We are glad with the turnout of events as we are now the winner after Matchday 1 and 2. This victory didn’t come to us by surprise. It’s as a result of the deliberate re-engineering efforts undertaken by the management at re-focusing our target for this season” he continued, ” this is not the end, we shall continue to re-evaluate our performance and ensure that team work, good welfare, dedication and great luck remain our core value as requirements for getting to the top and qualify for Division A.”

In the elite Division A, Tekena Drones pipped the Supremes with a superior Individual Players record of 56 wins to stay at the top of the table after both sides recorded a total of 13 wins each.

Bulldozers, Hurricanes, Word Crafts and Phoenix completed the table as they finished 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th on the log.

The next weekend of Match Days 3 will be held on June 26 in Benin, the capital city of Edo State.
