Destroying Opponents Give Me Joy – Edo Queens Goal Machine Atume Doosuur

Edo Queens forward Atume Doosuur has expressed her delight each time she finds the back of the net for the Benin City–based side, describing goal-scoring as a source of joy and motivation in her career.

The prolific striker credited God, the technical crew and her teammates for her growing impact in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.

“Each time I score for my club, it gives me joy and I give glory to God. I also thank the technical crew for giving me the opportunity, and my teammates for their support,” Doosuur said.

“Whenever we are preparing for a crucial league match, I always pray to God to help me score. I am happiest when my team wins.

My aim is to keep improving by scoring more goals. We want to qualify for the Super Six and work hard to win the league so we can represent Nigeria on the continent.”

Doosuur was on target twice in Edo Queens’ last home fixture before the Christmas break, as the former champions secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Adamawa Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The brace took her tally to three goals in four league matches, underlining her fine form this season.

Edo Queens will return to action on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, when they face Naija Ratels FC of Abuja in a Matchday 6 encounter of the NWFL Premiership. The fixture will be played at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 pm local time.

Currently second on the Group A standings of the abridged league, the Benin City ladies are expected to arrive in Abuja fully prepared for the challenge, determined to maintain their strong push for the Super Six.

Although Naija Ratels have never defeated Edo Queens in a competitive fixture, the visitors are wary of underrating the Abuja-based side.

Edo Queens are expected to rely on their experience and tactical discipline as they target maximum points against the Abuja based team.

With the Benin Queens rediscovering their rhythm across all departments of play, Naija Ratels are bracing for what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter in the nation’s capital.
