Despite Shutting Us Out, Falcons Stood Tall – Abayomi Ogunjimi

The National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi has hailed the resilience of the country’s Women’s National team, the Super Falcons.

The Nine-time African Champions today defeated co-host Australia 3-2 in their second group game at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi at a Press briefing called at the instance of ANFASSC, at its Secretariat in Lagos today, expressed bitterness at the manner in which Supporters Club from Nigeria were shut out from the first two games, particularly today’s game against Australia.

He said, “Their game plan is so obvious, the Australian Embassy is keeping us away intentionally, we would have been on the ground to cheer our darling team to victory today, but with or without us, our ladies stood tall and silenced their crowd”.

“Football is not a do-or-die affair, we compete, we catch fun, and we strive to thrive, but It’s sad that our entry document has not been granted, but it’s well.

The ANFASSC National President, Abayomi Ogunjimi hailed the Nigeria Football Federation for its role in ensuring that there will be a new development soon, he also called on the Federal government of Nigeria to intervene timely, as the presence of the supporters club will in no small measure help the Falcons going forward.

The ANFASSC Supremo is hopeful that their visas would be approved before the Falcons take on the Republic of Ireland in their last group game.
