Delta Force vs Shooting Stars: Warriors Invade Ogwashi-Uku For Victory

By Tosin Omojola, Media Officer, 3SC

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, will this Saturday, confront Delta Force FC of Asaba, with their minds fixed on grabbing their seventh straight victory.

With six wins from the previous six games, amounting to 18 maximum points, the Ibadan soccer lords seem not ready to drop any point, considering the mood in their camp ahead of the match day seven encounter billed for the Austin Jay Jay Okocha Stadium in Ogwashi-Uku.

“Of course, our aim is to continue with the winning run and against Delta Force on Saturday, another win is what we are here to achieve”, said central defender, Abbey Benson.

“We know our supporters and fans are already used to winning and we are aware of their expectations regarding this weekend’s game, we are fully ready to make them happy again by beating Delta Force on their home soil”, concluded the dreadlocked defender.

Victory for the Oluyole Warriors is quite possible if the current form of both sides are anything to go by.

While the Edith Olunide Agoye tutored lads sit comfortably on top of the NNL Group B1 log with18 points from six matches having won all their matches, Delta Force are in the seventh position, with seven points from six matches.

The Sunday Okoh tutored Delta Force, have recorded just a win at home (1-0 against Go Round on matchday five ), drawn two against Vandrezzer and Rovers, and have also drawn two away games against Giant Brillars and Stationery Stores, losing only once to Ekiti United on matchday two.

Having managed to share the spoils with Stationery Stores in Lagos last weekend, the homers will be hoping to get something positive against the table toppers, a herculean task indeed.

They will definitely have their hands full against the in-form visitors, who apart from winning all their games, have scored 15 goals, letting in just one.

The last encounter between both sides was in 2019 when Taiwo Muritala’s lone strike helped the Oluyole Warriors to beat their foes 1-0 in the final of the maiden edition of the Prince Dapo Abiodun Pre season Cup final played in Ijebu-Ode.
