Nigerian-born former England national team dazzler, Bamidele Dele has turned up at a fourth-tier club in an apparently desperate search for a revival of his fast-fading career, Sports247 reports.
The latest port of call for the fading star, who is popularly known as Dele, is Barnet FC, where he hopes to get a sound footing after his recent move to Italy failed to yield dividends.
Having failed to get back on course over the past 12 months at Besiktas of Turkey and Como of Italy, Dele reckons that it would be easier for him to get a deal at a ‘small fry club,’ hence his arrival at Barnet.
Alli, who is rated among the high-profile free agents of this summer’s transfer window, is continuing his latest quest with a number of public appearances and physical outings on the pitch at Barnet.
A report by the UK’s Sunspot revealed: “Dele Alli has been maintaining his fitness at Barnet’s training ground, as he plots his next move. The former England midfielder, 30, is among a host of star-studded names still available as a free agent after the transfer window slammed shut.
“Dele has been without a club since ripping up his Como deal last September. But, in a desperate bid to reignite his career, the one-time Champions League runner-up has been putting himself to the test at Barnet.
“Dele uploaded footage onto TikTok from the League Two table-toppers’ training ground at The Hive. The Tottenham icon showed he can still be deadly in front of goal by finding the net in a solo shooting drill.”
