Sports247 reports that the transfer marks a major step in Azeez’s career after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Millwall, during which he established himself as one of the Championship’s most productive attacking players.

Azeez scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 appearances last season, performances that earned him recognition in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

His impressive form attracted strong interest from Brighton, who reportedly saw at least three bids rejected by Millwall before eventually reaching an agreement for the winger.

The initial transfer fee is reported to be £12.5 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the overall value beyond £15 million. The deal is expected to become a club-record sale for Millwall. For Azeez, the move represents the culmination of his efforts to earn an opportunity in the Premier League.

The Nigerian winger now joins a Brighton squad renowned for developing young talent and providing players with opportunities to establish themselves at the highest level of English football. His arrival also adds to the growing Nigerian presence at the south-coast club. Azeez will link up with fellow Nigerian Zadok Yohanna, who joined Brighton earlier this summer.

The move could provide Azeez with a fresh platform to showcase his pace, creativity and goalscoring ability against some of the best teams in English football. Having already demonstrated his quality in the Championship, the challenge now will be adapting to the increased intensity and demands of Premier League football.

Brighton will hope his impressive attacking numbers from last season can translate to the top flight, while Azeez will be determined to make an immediate impact and establish himself as an important member of the squad.

His four-year contract underlines Brighton’s confidence in his potential and provides the Nigerian international with an opportunity to build a long-term future at the club.
