Sutton United have officially signed 20-year-old goalkeeper David Aziaya, a towering 6′6″ shot-stopper of Nigerian descent, ahead of the 2025/26 English National League season.

Aziaya, who most recently played for Bromley FC, made his senior debut in March 2024 during a 1–0 win over Wealdstone.

He spent the latter part of the 2024/25 season on loan at League of Ireland First Division side Finn Harps, where he impressed with four clean sheets in ten matches.

Born in South London, Aziaya began his football journey at the Kinetic Foundation before moving to Norwich City’s academy at age 17.

He later gained experience through loan spells at clubs including Barnsley, Faversham Town, Chatham Town, Dover Athletic, Salisbury, Dartford, and Finn Harps.

Sutton United confirmed the signing on June 26 via an official announcement, with Aziaya expressing his excitement: “It feels good, I’m excited to be here. I can’t wait to meet all my teammates… I wanted to get on board and get ready to work.”

Known for his physical presence, quick reflexes, and composure with the ball at his feet, Aziaya is expected to bring fresh competition to Sutton’s goalkeeping department as the club prepares for a promotion push in the National League.

His arrival marks another ambitious move by Sutton United as they rebuild their squad following relegation from League Two in 2024.

Aziaya joins a growing list of talented young players of Nigerian descent making their mark in English football.
