England-based Nigerian-born boxer, David Adeleye is banking on his upcoming bout in Lagos to help him relaunch his world title potentials, which received a dent with two straight defeats, Sports247 reports.
Adeleye believes he can bounce back from his recent loss to Filip Hrgovic when he boxes in Nigeria on December 19, then go for a rematch with Fabio Wardley, who beat him during a British title fight in 2023.

Although Wardley later defeated Joseph Parker and has risen to become the WBO world champion, Adeleye is keeping him as his main target, while eagerly hoping to get a rematch in 2026.
Adeleye told Sky Sports: “The WBO world champion. That would be nice. He obviously knows he’s got a target on his back being world champion.
“It would be good to get it in 2026. I get to right my wrong. don’t need to soul-search because I know who I am.”
