Sports247 gathered that the youngster’s mum is the family’s breadwinner, and she fully backs him in his football dream, hence Daniel’s determination to reward her once he becomes a successful professional player.

His biggest achievement so far was playing for Alimosho local government selected squad in the NAPPSS 2021 Sports Festival senior boys’ football final at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

Although they lost the game to Lagos Island via penalties, after a 1-1 draw at regulation time, the rising star, who is fondly called ‘Gino,’ acknowledged that it was a massive step forward in his career.

However, the utility player who shot to prominence with Young Tigers FC of Ikotun and enjoyed further exposure at Lazio FC and God Did Football Academy of Akesan, has projected himself for greater achievements in years to come.

He retorted, “I am a utility player and I can do well in central defence, both full-back positions and as a defensive midfielder. I am sure that my ability to play different roles and positions on the field will help me as a professional footballer.

“Although I am not an attacker, I like the style of Cristiano Ronaldo. I like the way he plays with determination and ambition. That’s why I am also determined to succeed in football.

“I want to be great, so that I can help my mummy and my family. I want to make money in football, so we can smile and be happy. I will give my mum my first transfer money so that she can pray over it for me.”
